On duty

Katie and I have been on dorm duty for the past three weekends. We thought this would be a great idea so that we have more time with Baby Calhoun in January/February. Turns out three weekends in a row with 30 teenage girls is a bit exhausting.... Oh well, it gives me time to post a slide show! I put in a bunch of random photos from the past year and we hope they hold you all over before wicked cute baby photos.

On a side note, Katie and I had our first of two "express" birthing classes today. We learned some interesting breathing strategies but more importantly, I learned (from 2 hours of video) that there is a lot involved in baby delivery that scares Daddy Calhoun. Katie laughed out loud as I walked out of the classroom looking like a "deer in headlights". Hopefully, I'll have a few more weeks to work on my bravery! Our best to all.....

Snow and blogs

Katie and I are stuck inside while it's dumping snow outside and since Katie can't exactly ski, snowboard or sled these days, we thought creating a blog would be the next best thing. As you can see, Katie is 8 months pregnant and in the next few weeks we're going to welcome a "New Hooner" into the world. Although this is a somewhat terrifying thought (does the world need another Hooner?), we're very excited and thought we'd use this page to keep friends, siblings and grandparents in the loop. While much of it will be "Oh my GOD....she just spit up for the first time! Isn't that amazing!", we'll also try to add a bunch of photos and video as she grows.

So, we're sitting around waiting for her to show up. If history repeats itself, one of these snowstorms will trigger labor...like mother like daughter! We'll keep you updated.
